I respect Glover but he extended that fight a little bit by trying to go for submissions. I know he was trying to get the finish and save Smith from a beating, but I remember there were multiple times where, if he had just kept pounding away, the fight would have been stopped. Herzog was looking for an excuse to stop the fight, but each time it got close, Glover would ease off and try to get a choke or whatever.
